ZTRS Empowers Wuhan Optics Valley Air Rail, China’s First Commercial Air Rail Line: Smart Public Security Governance

At 10:00 on September 26, 2023, the Wuhan Optics Valley Air Rail Tour Line officially opened to the public, marking China’s first urban air rail line to enter commercial operation. ZTRS’s self-developed products, the Intelligent Security Platform and iSW Industrial Ethernet Switches, were successfully deployed in this project.

Project Overview

The Phase I of Wuhan Optics Valley Air Rail Tour Line is now in service, stretching 10.5 kilometers with 6 stations along the route.

The air rail trains operate in fully automatic driverless mode at a maximum speed of 60 km/h. The initial configuration adopts 2-car trainsets with a maximum capacity of over 220 passengers. Trainsets can be flexibly configured between 2 and 3 cars to accommodate varying passenger flow demands.

ZTRS’s Contribution
As a leading ICT technology and service provider, ZTRS has conducted in-depth research in the urban rail transit sector for more than two decades, delivering a full portfolio of diversified terminal devices as well as cutting-edge digital platform products and solutions. For the Phase I project of the Optics Valley Air Rail Tour Line, ZTRS took part in the construction of the security technical prevention system and partial communication systems, with its self-developed Intelligent Security Platform and iSW series Industrial Ethernet Switches successfully implemented.
01 Intelligent Security Platform

The security technical prevention system for Phase I of the Optics Valley Air Rail Tour Line adopts an independent system architecture. It comprises 1 line-level central Intelligent Security Platform and 7 station-level Intelligent Security Platforms (covering 6 passenger stations and 1 vehicle base).

Built upon GB 51151 standard, ZTRS’s Intelligent Security Platform integrates video surveillance, access control, security inspection and detection, intrusion alarm, electronic patrol, automatic fare collection and other subsystems into one unified ecosystem. Capabilities including abnormal behavior analysis, station passenger flow mapping and intelligent image recognition enable proactive identification of emergencies, accelerate emergency response, elevate rail transit safety management, and effectively safeguard the interests and safety of all passengers.

02 iSW Series Industrial Ethernet Switches
ZTRS’s iSW series Industrial Ethernet Switches are independently developed network communication products tailored for demanding scenarios such as urban rail transit that require high reliability and stability. Featuring advanced industrial design and passing rigorous industry-standard tests, the switches effectively resist shock, vibration, electromagnetic interference and unstable on-board power supply. They provide access-layer network connectivity for on-board terminals such as passenger displays and cameras, and deliver redundant links for driver cabins and passenger compartments to ensure fast fault recovery.
